SUPPORT WC WRESTLING
There are numerous ways parents,
friends, and fans can support Warren County Wrestling. Each year the wildcats must raise funds to be competitive as one of
the top teams in Virginia wrestling. Funds are used for travel, food, warm ups, and state of the art equipment.
Here
are some ways you can help:
1) Sponsorships – the Cats are currently looking for sponsors for the 2012-2013
Team. Sponsors are a big part of fundraising for the team. Sponsors are listed
on the WC webpage and in the match programs. If you know of a business that may be interested – see Coach Wadas. Last
Year 90% of sponsors were referred by parents.
2) Fundraisers – the Wildcats run in
Season and out of season fundraisers
In season - Takedown-a-thon
/ Lift -a-thon - We are conducting a takedown- a - thon and a liftathon (like a walk a thon) - you can
help by sponsoring a wrestler.
Out of season - the
team will have Car washes this year the dates:
will be listed on the website and sent out in emails – all profits
go toward WC Wrestling– we could use volunteers to help work.
3) Wildcat Wrestling Camp 2012 (July 23- 26) The wildcats run a technique camp the last week of July – this is to help our wrestlers
gain valuable technique and experience but also acts as a fundraiser. (We need
help with set up, sponsors, and getting kids out)
4) Spring Tournament – the Wildcats host a Spring Tournament – the Airshows Classic in May. We need help to run the event.
5) Parent’s Association
– the final and most important way parents
can be involved is by joining the WC Wrestling Parent’s association. The
WCPA is the reason wrestling is one of the strongest programs in Warren County High School. Many of the great things the WCPA
does are: run concessions, and hospitality rooms, feeds wrestlers, and pays for hotel rooms. All through 2012 we will be emailing
info to parents to keep them updated on events and info for WC Wrestling - not just during the season but also in the off
season. You can join simply by signing up at any event or emailing Coach Wadas. We have 2 WCPA meetings during the year!
